Applicable Heat Treatment | Normalization , quenching and tempering, Case Hardening, Nitriding, Carbon Nitriding, Induction Quenching. |
Material:
16Mn steel is carbon and manganese steel, with a carbon content of about 0.16%. The yield point is equal to 343MPa (the strength level belongs to 343MPA).The alloy content of 16mn steel is small, well welded, and generally does not need to be preheated before welding. However, because the hardening tendency of 16mn steel is slightly larger than that of low-carbon steel, at low temperature (such as winter open-air operations) or welding on large rigidity and large thickness structures, pre-heating measures are required to prevent cold cracks.
Chemical Composition(%)
C | Si | Mn | Cr | P | S | Ni | Cu |
0.13~0.19 | 0.20~0.60 | 1.20~1.60 | ≤0.30 | ≤0.030 | ≤0.030 | ≤0.30 | ≤0.25 |
